Effective Altruism (EA) Lagos
Effective Altruism (EA) Lagos is the Lagos chapter of effective altruism and University of Lagos that advocates and facilitates EA principles and cause areas within the effective altruism community in the state. The group's main focus is on economic growth necessitated by the fact that problems in the developing world are second order effects of poverty. With Africa having the highest number of people living below the international poverty line, the goal is to use knowledge and reason to find unique solutions (considering Africa's political economy, level of resources, and human capital) to help solve this problem. It has successfully hosted meetups and online webinars on topics such as effective career building.

Effective Animal Advocacy Nigeria (EAAN)
Effective Animal Advocacy Nigeria (EAAN) is a subcommunity of Effective Altruism Nigeria focused on animal advocacy through the use of evidence and reason to identify and implement the best ways to help non-human animals. Activities are carried out through hosting events to present and discuss ideas from effective animal advocacy, social events to chat and connect, and regular updates and news from the Animal Welfare community, and much more!

Effective Altruism Bayero University Kano (EA BUK)
Effective Altruism Bayero University Kano (EA BUK) is a student-led community focused on exploring how we can use reason, evidence to tackle the world’s most pressing problems. Our goal is to empower students to think critically about doing good effectively and to equip them with the tools, knowledge, and networks needed to make a real impact. This is achieved through structured programs, interactive discussions, and expert-led sessions, and a platform created for students to deeply engage with ideas that shape the future. We also emphasise practical engagement, helping members apply EA principles to their career choice, research interests, and projects. Our activities are ensuring that students not only learn about EA but also integrate it into their long-term plans.

Effective Altruism Ahmadu Bello University (EA ABU) is a student-led group dedicated to exploring and applying evidence-based strategies to making meaningful impacts on the world. We promote the principles of effective altruism, including cost-effective charitable giving, high-impact career choices, and thoughtful problem-solving. Through fellowships, discussions, and events, we provide a supportive community for students to engage with global challenges and take action to improve the world in the most effective ways possible.
